Classes

Classes are divided into 2 groups: Workshops and Classes. Classes are lecture and QNA based. They will not require performance from the actors. Workshops are heavily performance based and you will need to come vocally warmed up and with a microphone.

Unless specidically stated, all classes are open to all levels of actors!
There are also multiple day classes. These are a hybrid of workshop/ class and normally meet on multiple days or run for a few weeks

Workshops

Workshops are a great way to improve your performance! With both direct feedback on your performance from Rachael as well as class feedback, you can learn how to better portray your emotions, subtext, and handle direction all in a positive environment designed to help an actor grow. This type of feedback is rare in the acting community as you are normally sending out auditions and not hearing back about what you could have improved on. These types of workshops allow you the chance to learn how to improv your auditions and bookings!

Marketing for Actors

This workshop will focus on social media marketing for actors.

Marketing is a crucial part of getting work as a voice actor. A brilliant marketer may get found by a ton of clients, but if they cannot act, then it doesn't matter.
A brilliant actor who cannot market themselves, will miss opportunities and roles they would have otherwise had.
You need both to thrive as a voice actor. This class covers ways for clients to discover you, For auditions to come to your inbox vs you having to seek them out. To allow your marketing to find jobs FOR you, instead of spending hours sifting through casting calls. It also covers ways to improve your chances of getting cast for roles you audition for!

It covers aspects of social media ranging from Twitter, facebook, instagram and more. With details about attracting followers (without buying them), knowledge of the social media algorithms (When is the best time to post on facebook to get the most interaction, shares, and likes and how this differs from twitters algorithm.), status sharing secrets, getting new followers with every post, getting new followers every day even when you arent posting, and more.

This workshop also covers how to set up your own website, internet tags, and how to get clients to find you rather than trying to have to find clients and jobs all the time.

All together, the workshop covers a variety of different avenues to get more fans, social interaction and shares, and most importantly, get an actor more work

Creating Voice Characters

This workshop is $75. This workshop has limited spots available. Right now, I have it set to 20 people MAX! This may change. What I will be doing with this workshop is renting out a professional recording studio. This is part of the reason for the price jump. The other reason? I want to make sure everyone who claims one of the 20 available slots will show up. I don’t want someone to say “I’ll be there!” Then come the day, they don’t show up, while another person who really wanted to be there missed out on a spot they could have had. So the price is part studio time, part I want committed people.

This workshop will teach
-Creating Characters for voice acting
-Some voice types taught will be Children (Both boy and girls-Girls will learn how to do boy voices), old age, cartoon, video game (Voices and reactions), Anime, ect..
-Changing your voice to create multiple characters
-Maintain vocal health and preventing any vocal damage (Your voice is your work, lose it and lose your job)
-The difference between character, anime, radio plays, and commercial voices and where they can be used

I will be coaching one on one with each of you. One person will get their own time in the booth while I am in the editing bay coaching. While waiting, I will be showing the class tips on editing sound clips.

I will also be bringing in auditions for real upcoming projects! You can choose between
-2 Video Games
-2 Cartoons
-Or voice clips for your demo reel (Think of lines, voices, characters you would want in your demo reel. When you come in, we will record some of these)

What you will need to bring:
-A water Bottle (This is HIGHLY suggested, also for sale at workshop)
-A Usb (This is so we can record your voice at the studio and you can take the clips home with you)
-$75
-A positive attitude :

This workshop is available upon request. When enough requests have been issued, the class will be offered

Character Creations and Breakdown

This class covers how to really delve into a character. From learning how to interpret the character art and read the clues it gives you for a character, to using script analysis to understand a character better, and using speech psychology to help portray the character.

This class is designed to help you understand the reasoning behind a characters artwork and the subtle clues the artist is trying to convey. By understanding these clues, it can help you with both on the spot auditions and auditions with little character background to help you with your audition. It can also give you clues about your characters emotional state, personality types, and how to base a voice off of those traits. Plus this can help you nail an audition by understanding the character better, especially in auditions where character description can be very lacking.

The class will then teach you how to break down text to better understand a character. How certain words and repetitive sounds can give the actor hints about how to play the situation, along with which words and phrases would be best to emphasize. Then, combined with the psychology of speech, you learn how to put all three together to create a well rounded character for both auditions and roles. It can help understand where your character is coming from, emotional state, and tactics, along with how best to express them
